I want to send words of encouragement to my Mom. She taught me to be compassionate to all people, what it means to love, what it means to make someone happy, how to give unconditionally, how to respect people, how to pick myself up when life doesn’t go the way we expect it to. In the last 5 years she has lost my father, her husband over 50 years, tragically of pancreatic cancer, three of her siblings and a brother in law and niece. She worked until last year, when she was let go of her job with the State of Massachusetts after 25 years. She has shown us grace under fire and strength. She deserves so much more than I can ever give back. She has been through all of the ups and downs of my life. She believed in me when no one else did, she worked hard to support my siblings for years on end… tirelessly showing up. I live so far from her and unable to see her. We were suppose to go in a trip to celebrate her 80 back in April, but life had other things in mind. Like many others, she is self isolating which has become hard. She was active in her community, volunteering a few days a week, taking classes at the senior center and attending her local unitarian universalist church. If you could take the time, a card to say hi.

Thanks
Barbara!!
Wishing you a wonderful day and first year of your 80s! I’m hitting a new-decade, milestone birthday myself this year. What a time to be alive :)
It’s so nice to read the kind words your daughter wrote about you—and how good she is at loving you from afar. It’s inspired me to see how I can love my distanced family and friends better today too.
Wishing you all the best!
Stay safe, and hopeful, this too shall pass.
I'm not exceptionally social but love to talk to 'elders' as their stories are so amazing and we can learn so much!
I visit a nursing home, which is limits now, just to visit. We treat out elderly ad if they are not important- it's very sad. We need to take the time to listen and be with them. Its human

Thank you!
I would love to hear about all the different times in your mom's life. What she learned, what she remembers most, what make her most happy now. Anytime she wants to drop a line, I am here. Reyna Bishop radialheadfx@hotmail.com.
