Holiday Hands

I have three children, ages 9, 5 and 2. My oldest son has Down syndrome. His smile can light up a room and it lights up my heart. However, school during COVID has been so difficult for him. I have been fighting hard to ensure he gets the help he needs, though it can feel daunting at times, but I am determined. My 5-year-old daughter attends kindergarten in person every other day. We don’t have money to pay for our internet, which is really expensive. On the days when they aren’t in school in person, they take turns attending school on my phone using my cell plan. If I had a Christmas wish, I wish that every child could go to school again in person. For my own children, it would be wonderful to have new warm coats for everyone. I would also like to be able to buy a beanbag chair for my son, a new Barbie doll for my daughter, and a musical instrument set for my two year old.
