Holiday Hands

My daughter just turned 1 this fall. It has been very hard to be inside with an infant through COVID. My mother and sisters are in Mexico and I miss them so much. My partner worked in a restaurant in New York City and lost his job in late March as the city shut down. He has been called back to work but only part time. We don’t have enough money to pay the rent, pay the utility bills, and keep our cell phones on. My cell phone is the way I am able to talk to my mother via Whatsapp- those conversations keep me alive. I have been making lots of little presents for my daughter from recycled objects (e.g., a shaker using beans and the paper towel roll) and I am saving those for Christmas so she will have some gifts. It would be a great relief to have a month of diapers and enough groceries for the week. That would be the best Christmas present ever.
