Holiday Hands

I have three children -- 2 daughters and 1 son. My oldest daughter has severe behavioral problems that require a lot of my attention. It is very hard for her to attend school remotely. I feel like I am not being a very good mother to my other two children on most days, but I try to do the best I can. Luckily, my husband is a big help. He lost his job when the pandemic hit New York City in March. In some ways, it was so good to have him home to help me with the children, but then we didn’t have any income so we used all of our savings. He was called back to work last month so we are thankful. That being said, we don’t have any extra money for Christmas this year. I would really like to be able to buy a dinosaur set for my son and a matching dinosaur bedspread. My youngest daughter would be so excited to have her own princess tent. I think it might be really good for her to have her own space where she can retreat and be without her sister. If we had a few extra dollars, I would prioritize a small Christmas tree so we could enjoy that for all of December.
