Traditional meal from our home country

Nido de Esperanza | New york, NY
My husband and I moved to the US to escape violence. With our work visas, we felt hopeful that we could build a new life here. In addition to working, I started a culinary training program. Two years ago, we welcomed a baby boy. When the pandemic hit NYC, we both lost our jobs, and then my husband fell ill. We have fallen behind on utility bills and rent. If I could have a holiday gift, it would be to have groceries to celebrate the holidays with a traditional meal from our home country, a winter coat for my son, and a toy drum or guitar for him.
