$578,099.77 for urgent relief for Haiti
Because of you, our more than half a million dollar investment is on the ground right now providing urgent relief for Haitian families and children. Last week, we asked you to join us in supporting the thousands of families who were devastated by August 14th’s excruciating earthquake. Together, we raised an additional $328,099.77, bringing our total investment to an incredible $578,099.77.
Every penny is in the hands of five boots-on-the-ground organizations whose teams are working tirelessly to deliver emergency medical care and life-saving supplies. Together, all of us are supporting:
Communities Organizing for Haitian Engagement and Development (COFHED), whose deeply-embedded team is distributing tarps for temporary shelters, food, water, medical supplies, hygiene supplies, and clothing. We are also supporting their long-term efforts to work hand-in-hand with families to rebuild homes, repair clinics, schools, bridges, and churches, and restore damaged wells and agricultural infrastructure.
Healing Art Missions, whose Haitian-led team has mobilized a local surgical team of Haitian doctors in Les Cayes and Nippes—two of the most devastated areas. Dr. Jacques and team are working 24/7 operating on critically-injured patients.
Health Equity International, a centrally-located hospital that is serving as an emergency medicine hub for surrounding communities that have nowhere else to go. We are supporting hospital operations as patient volume skyrockets, as well as the ground transportation and customs clearance required to deliver truckloads of critical supplies through Direct Relief, including three emergency health kits that contain enough medicine and supplies to treat 6,000 people for one month.
What If Foundation, whose Haitian-directed team is launching mobile clinics to meet the most impacted families right where they are. We are supporting their mobile clinics, as well as their around-the-clock efforts to deliver clean water, food, and basic necessities.
We delivered over half a million dollars of urgent relief to Haitian families and children—because of the way we all showed up, together.
Thank you for continuing to prove that We Belong to Each Other.
