As we moved through 2020 it was hard to not notice the suffering and need of families, especially this year.But, I have always struggled with what to do. Recognizing the need is one thing, but knowing what or how to help is another. Together Rising has provided the community and the opportunity for me to feel like I’m making a small difference in someone’s life. I’m sure the impact on me is far greater than on the families I’ve helped but, through the Together Rising community I feel like I can finally know how to help. Instead of just seeing the problem and feeling paralyzed by the enormity of it, Together Rising has allowed me, through my donations, to make a difference. Being part of that community was an important and impactful part of my year.

When I lived in Japan, I really loved how they saw themselves only as strong as their weakest link and lifting everyone up for the sake of everyone. I’m joining Together Rising now because I gave a lot and did a lot in 2021 independently and I want to be with other people working together. My dad was a cowboy boot wearing guy. He passed away in October. I read that a young man had dreamed of a pair of cowboy boots. We were able to celebrate my dad and make a friend’s dream come true. So grateful for this community and am honored to be a part of it.
