Elizabeth

Elizabeth has known her whole life that she’s wanted to be a mom. “That’s all I’ve ever wanted. Everything else was just secondary,” she shared. And now she is a loving single mom to three kids, ages 2, 5, and 7. 

But when Elizabeth’s youngest, Remi,  was just 10 days old, he was diagnosed with a heart condition that would change everything for this young family. Remi was hospitalized and away from his siblings for the majority of his first year and a half of life. Elizabeth and her mom took turns being at the hospital with Remi and at home with his sisters. Being separated was hard on everyone. Thankfully, Remi was discharged and able to come home. But things were still rather difficult. 

Seeing everything Together Rising was doing for others, Elizabeth reached out, sharing that their family car wasn’t big enough for all three kids and Remi’s medical equipment to fit together. She asked if we could help.

And thanks to you and especially our Team Love supporters, we got to say YES. Yes to a new car and to a new way of living as a family. Thanks to you, they have a new car with room for everyone.

Now when Elizabeth takes Remi to doctors appointments or even a trip to the store, his sisters get to come, too. They are no longer left out of moments, big or small. They no longer have to miss their brother or their mom, worried or being left behind. They get to be together. 

“Just having them all together in one space is the best thing. It’s really nice to have this vehicle that we can use that is so reliable, but also to know that there is a community out there that helped us so much. This changed our lives.”

Thank you for helping us bring something so much bigger than a car to Elizabeth and her kids. Thank you for bringing them a sense of peace and a reminder that they don’t just have each other, they have this community cheering them on. We are better together.
