Why are you sunsetting the organization?
After twelve years of turning heartbreak into action – and supporting families, individuals and organizations like yours with $55,118,582.16 – Together Rising’s Board of Directors has determined it is time to sunset the organization.
This huge decision has been in the making for a long while, and it has been made unanimously by the entire Together Rising Board — without controversy, without strife, with just our steady grateful hearts knowing: Yes, it’s time. It’s as important to know when to end a beautiful thing as it is to know when to begin a beautiful thing.
And it has been beautiful. Because of your love, trust, and generosity, we have been able to respond to the needs of 11,713 real people with vital financial relief, and we have been able to provide urgent support to 298 organizations who are meeting some of the greatest challenges in our lifetime.
None of this happens without YOU. We will be forever grateful for how you have shown up for us, so we could show up for the world. The sunsetting of Together Rising does not mean the end of heartbreak or the end of action — we will all keep showing up in new and different ways to heal our hearts and heal the world.
I just donated, will my donation still be used for charitable purposes?
Yes! All donations received by Together Rising, as well as all remaining unrestricted funds (aside from the funds required to cover administrative expenses and employee compensation), will be used for organizational grants and grants for individuals and families in crisis consistent with our mission.
What happens to my recurring donations? Do I need to cancel my recurring donation or are you doing that for me?
You do not need to take any action to stop your recurring donation. We are stopping recurring donations as of June 18, 2024. If you feel there was an error in this regard, please email [email protected].
Where do you recommend I donate going forward?
Together Rising has existed to be a bridge between this community and boots-on-the-ground organizations doing relentless, world-healing work every day. We invite you to step over this bridge to connect directly with them. Please visit our website to see the incredible work our grantees have done, get involved with them, follow them, and invest in their vital work.
I applied for a grant – what is the status of my application?
If you have been awarded a grant, you have been notified by our team. Thank you for so generously sharing your stories and your families with us all these years.
How will I get my tax-deductible receipt?
When you donate to Together Rising online, you automatically receive a tax receipt emailed to your account. Please check your spam folder if you do not see your receipt. If you need further assistance, you may email [email protected].
