Yemen Relief and Reconstruction Foundation (YRRF)
For almost a decade, the humanitarian crisis in Yemen has continued to rage, with more than half the population unable to access food sustainably. According to UNICEF, over 2.2 million children under the age of five are experiencing acute malnutrition, and hundreds of thousands more are suffering from severe and dangerous weight loss.
What do you do when an entire nation is facing one of the largest humanitarian crises in the world? When they have been ravaged by war and a siege that has restricted people from receiving the most basic of human rights—including lack of medicine and, even more direly, an inadequate and steadily dwindling food supply? When they have been stripped of their dignity and humanity?
You look for the helpers. And you stay long after others have moved on. Thankfully, our long-standing partner, Yemen Relief and Reconstruction Foundation (YRRF), is continuing to adapt and respond to the growing needs.
Because of your ongoing support, Together Rising is investing $50,000 in YRRF to provide food to over 830 families during Ramadan this year. Since 2020, Together Rising has invested a total of $540,000 in YRRF’s food basket program. Each basket contains staples including flour, rice, sugar, and beans and provides enough food to feed a family of 6 for one month. That means you have directly impacted more than 10,300 families with life-saving meals.
Led by a Yemeni woman, Dr. Aisha Jumaan, YRRF is deeply embedded and uniquely positioned to meet the needs of the most vulnerable. We stand with the vulnerable and are so grateful for partners like YRRF as they continue to support the people of Yemen.
Together Rising can’t do any of this work without your support. Thank you for declaring with us that no matter what, we are all deserving of the most basic human needs.
